Appropriate and Value-Based Care

At TTSH, we are committed to delivering value-based care. We will work closely with you, by considering evidence that works and understanding what matters most to you, to achieve meaningful outcomes and cost-effective care.

What is Value?

Cambridge Dictionary defines value as: “The importance or worth of something for someone”

In our daily lives, we often make judgments about value. For example, when booking a hotel for a vacation, we think about how convenient the location is and what amenities are offered. We then consider these benefits in relation to our budget or how much we are willing to pay.

What is Appropriate and Value-Based Care (AVBC)?

Similarly, AVBC is centred on providing care that is clinically effective and personally meaningful to you. The aim is to deliver the best health outcomes possible for you while using healthcare resources wisely.

At TTSH, we seek to create value for you in everyday care. The TTSH Value Equation was shaped by patient perspectives and grounded in the outcomes and priorities that matter most to them.

Our Value Strategy guides us to improve value for patients, where value is defined as achieving the health outcomes that matter to patients at the most efficient cost.

TTSH refined the Value Equation to focus on our patients, grounding it in outcomes and priorities that matter most to them:
