What do I need to bring to the ED?
- Please bring along your
- Identification Document (e.g NRIC, Work Permit, foreigner pass or passport)
- Referral letters, if applicable
- Surgical face mask
Where can I collect the medication?
You may collect your medications from the Emergency Pharmacy upon discharge.
Can I obtain a physical medical certification (MC)?
As part of NHG's environmental initiative to reduce paper usage, medical certificates are now available digitally through the NHG Health App. You can view and access your MC through the app rather than receiving a physical copy.
For the Visitors
How can I receive updates about the patient?
During registration, our Patient Service Associate (PSA) will request the contact information of the designated next-of-kin (NOK).
The NOK will receive timely updates regarding the patient's journey in the ED and admission information.
The designated next-of-kin serves as the main point of contact throughout the patient's ED stay.
What does being a caregiver involve?
Caregiver for patients who fulfils the eligibility criteria will be required to assist with basic patient care such as assisting with toileting needs, feeding, changing of diapers.
Can I bring food to the patient?
We provide porridge, bread, biscuits, Milo, and water for patients awaiting admission in our Observation Rooms
Alternatively, you may bring food for the patient after registering as a visitor at the Visitor Registration counter
Please note that some patients may have dietary restrictions due to medical conditions or upcoming procedures.
What is the Emergency Diagnostic & Therapeutic Centre (EDTC)?
The EDTC is a 24-hour short stay observational ward for serious but stable conditions. It is located at Level 1, TTSH Emergency Block.
