Vaccination requirements may vary in different countries. We encourage you to discuss with our doctors and get advice regarding recommended or required vaccinations for your destination and for the activities you have planned.

You should try to schedule your vaccination appointment four to six weeks before your departure date. Most vaccines take 1-2 weeks to become effective.  Some vaccines must be given in a 2-3 dose series, with full protection only after completing all doses.

Please bring along all available vaccination records, and information about your medical conditions and medications to your THVC appointment, and show them to the doctor or nurse you are consulting with.

Our travel services include, but not limited to:

• Pre-travel evaluations for business trips, holiday and leisure travel, volunteer programs, mission groups, pilgrimages and disaster relief teams.

• Prevention and treatment advice for malaria and altitude illness. Medications may need to be prescribed by the doctor.

• Post-travel screening and treatment for travel related illnesses such as animal bites, parasitic infections, malaria, diarrhoea and other infections.

Certain occupations are associated with an increased risk of exposure to vaccine-preventable infections. Employees who are infected could pass on the diseases to others. Vaccination can protect employees and keep workplaces free of vaccine-preventable infections such as measles and influenza.

Before getting vaccinated, our team of doctors and nurses will assess the individual's relevant vaccination history, confirming the validity of certificates as appropriate. For employees with no vaccine records, a blood test may be carried out to check their immunity status. We will also provide patient reminder systems to ensure employees receive all their vaccination series when vaccination schedules are still ongoing.

The following occupations should consider the need for vaccination include, but not limited to:

• Healthcare workers who have contact with patients or work in clinical areas of hospitals

• Laboratory personnel who perform cultures or handle certain pathogens

• Employees who work in childcare and day care centres, and long-term care facilities

• Frontline responders such as armed forces personnel, immigration officers, police and prison officers

• Chickenpox (varicella)

• Cervical Cancer / Human Papilloma Virus (HPV)

• Gardasil 9

• Hepatitis A (adult and paediatrics)

• Meningococcal (quadrivalent A/C/Y/W – 135)

• Meningococcal B

• Measles / mumps / rubella (MMR)
