For some older adults, hospital admission is not always the answer.

Through 𝐄𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐭𝐲 (𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐘), geriatric expertise is brought to the front door of the Emergency Department - before ward admission - enabling early assessment and right-siting to the most appropriate care setting.

In the past year alone, 723 frail seniors avoided unnecessary acute hospital admission, up from 191 the year before. Collectively, they spent 4,000 fewer days in the hospital, with none requiring readmission within 72 hours.
