This year, Tan Tock Seng Hospital confers the title of Emeritus Consultant on two remarkable clinicians: Adjunct Associate Professor Chong Bee Kiang, Senior Consultant, Department of Diagnostic Radiology, and Associate Professor Ding Yew Yoong, Senior Consultant, Department of Geriatric Medicine.

Adj A/Prof Chong built a national screening programme, introduced technologies that changed how cancers are detected, and trained generations of radiologists who carry her standards forward.

A/Prof Ding is a pioneer of geriatric medicine in Singapore whose research has shaped national policy and whose mentorship has shaped a generation of clinicians.

Milestone Awards recognise teams whose projects have demonstrably implemented new solutions and reshaped patient care.

Emergency Department Interventions for Frailty (EDIFY)

Older adults make up over half of emergency admissions at TTSH, and hospital stays are not always the best outcome for frail seniors. EDIFY was established in 2017 to bring specialist geriatric expertise into the ED from the very start, ensuring patients are assessed early and directed to the most appropriate care setting.
