Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) was conferred the Excellence in Workforce Flexibility (Silver) under the HR Excellence Awards 2024 for the Physiotherapy Department’s Flexi-Work Schedule initiative.
The hospital was recognised for implementing a flexible work arrangement that empowers physiotherapists to better manage their time while enabling them to provide high quality patient care. Rostering challenges are inherent in large acute hospitals such as TTSH due to the need for round-the-clock patient care. By redesigning the roster schedule, our physiotherapists have successfully transformed the traditional 5.5-day work week on a fixed roster to a flexible 5-day work week with activation-based rostering, hence reducing weekend work and improving overall job satisfaction.
