Centre for Asian Nursing Studies (CANS)

Due to interest from Asian nursing leaders in TTSH Nursing, CANS was developed in 2016 with the aim to:

  1. Nurture impactful partnerships to advance Nursing Research, Education and Innovation
  2. Connect TTSH nurses to global health and facilitate co-learning opportunities

Since then, CANS has grown into a cluster-level platform - catalyzing change and showcasing thought leadership of NHG Nurses.

To create a learning ecosystem for Asian Nursing and beyond, shaping the future work of nurses, growing the future workforce, and designing the future workplace — to achieve value for our patients, health for our population and sustainability for generations.

Opportunities

  • To build collaborative networks for co-learning and identify trends, introduce fresh perspectives and deepen expertise through horizon scanning and partnerships
  • To drive purposeful innovation through co-creation by designing workshops and collaborative sandboxes to facilitate experimentation and adoption
  • To create innovation capacity in Asian Nursing through co-sharing of knowledge and resources, standards setting, publications and story-telling

Key Initiatives

CANS has been deeply rooted in close collaboration with TTSH since its inception in 2016, with much of our progress to date driven by dedicated Subject Matter Experts and Professionals from the institution. As we grow our network across NHG Health and beyond, we remain grateful for their foundational contributions and look forward to building on this momentum together.
