Collection Instructions:
Note: This is a Risk group 3 specimen, please follow high-risk specimen workflow.
Note 1: If testing is being performed, clinician must inform MOH concurrently.
Note 2: Clinical laboratory to inform NPHL prior to dispatch of specimen.
1. Affix Epic patient label onto container/tube.
2. Swab lesions vigorously to ensure adequate viral DNA is collected.
3. Multiple lesions at the same body site with similar morphology should be swabbed as one specimen (either one swab stick or 2-3 swab sticks).
4. Lesions from different body sites are to be tested.
5. Attach a physical MOH Surveillance Submission Form for Risk Group 3. Refer below for instructions.
