Why do we need the Automated Visitor Management System (AVMS)?
The AVMS helps us manage the number of visitors to our wards, allowing for more convenient and hassle-free visits. The system also helps us conduct contact tracing when needed for the safety of our patients and visitors.
Why do we need a Visitor Policy?
Our patients need rest to recover. The visiting hours and visitor quota ensure patients get enough rest and lower the risk of infection from visitors.
How will I know if the visitor quota has been met?
If you are unable to enter the gantry during visiting hours, it is likely that the quota has been met. You will be placed on the visitor waitlist upon scanning your identification card at the gantry.
An SMS will be sent to the first visitor on the waitlist once a visiting slot is available. Please arrive at the gantry within 10 minutes of receiving the SMS. Otherwise, the slot will be given to the next visitor on the list.
Can you provide the contact details of visitors who have filled the visitor quota?
We do not disclose information about patients and visitors in line with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Visitors are encouraged to contact the patient's next-of-kin or family members for details.
Visitors should keep within the recommended visit duration so that other visitors can have their turn to see the patient.
What if I don't have the patient's details for registration?
We do not disclose patient information in line with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). If you do not have the patient’s details, we recommend contacting their next-of-kin or family members.
Which identification cards can be used for registration?
You may register using your NRIC/FIN, Senior Citizen EZ-link card, Student EZ-link card or driving licence. You will need to scan the card at the gantry for entry and exit.
Visitors with foreign identification (e.g. passport, employment pass, etc.) may approach the B1 Visitor Registration counter for assistance.
What if I forgot to bring my identification card?
You may approach the Visitor Registration counter at Basement 1 between Towers A and B.
I have a family conference with a doctor outside visiting hours. How can I access the ward?
Please contact the Visitor Registration duty manager at wh.enquiry@nhghealth.com.sg, or approach the Visitor Registration counter at Basement 1 between Towers A and B.
