About CHAT
Hello, We are CHAT
When we began
Established in 2009 by the Institute of Mental Health under Singapore’s Ministry of Health (MOH). CHAT is a dedicated mental health service for young people aged 16 to 30.
We provide timely, specialised mental health support in a safe and inclusive space, ensuring that young people receive the care they need.
A Nationally Recognised Leader in Youth Mental Health
In recognition of our leadership and commitment to accessible, high-quality mental health care, CHAT was awarded the National Clinical Excellence Team Award by the Ministry of Health (MOH) in 2022.
OUR VISION
Lead the transformation of mental health support for youths and young adults in Singapore
OUR MISSION
CHAT – Centre of Excellence for Youth Mental Health aims to deliver accessible youth-centred care so that young people receive the right support, from the right professionals, in the right setting, right from the start.
As a national youth mental health service for young people aged 16 to 30, CHAT provides mental health support and promotes mental health literacy through public education and outreach—raising awareness, reducing stigma and supporting early help-seeking.
A one-stop centre for mental health help and resources!
We have private rooms for our mental health assessments, and a cosy hangout space for you to drop by! Feel free to pick up information about mental health, approach our friendly youth support workers if you have any related questions, or simply enjoy our comfy space!

Meet Our Team
We will take your calls, read your emails and attend to you if you walk in the Hub with questions for us. We conduct mental health assessments and recommend resources for help according to your needs. We also provide brief supportive work especially when there is long waiting time between your mental health assessment and your appointment with the help service we refer you to.
We provide training for young persons (as well as educators and helping professionals) who are interested in peer support.
