A Safe Environment for Recovery

For individuals who require more intensive support, IMH provides inpatient care in a safe, therapeutic and supportive environment.

Our multidisciplinary teams work closely with patients and their families to provide assessment, treatment and rehabilitation tailored to each individual's needs. Through a combination of clinical care, therapeutic programmes and recovery-focused support, we help patients stabilise, build resilience and work towards returning to their daily lives and communities.

With 1,950 beds across 50 wards, IMH offers a range of inpatient accommodation options and facilities designed to support comfort, wellbeing and recovery. Each ward is equipped with spaces for therapy, counselling, recreation and social interaction, creating an environment that supports healing and rehabilitation.

Immediate Support When You Need It Most

Mental health crises can happen at any time. IMH's 24-hour Emergency Services provides urgent assessment and treatment for individuals experiencing severe emotional distress, behavioural disturbances or acute mental health crises.

Our multidisciplinary team is available round the clock to provide timely care, stabilise acute conditions and determine the most appropriate next steps for treatment and recovery. As Singapore's national mental health institution, we are equipped to manage a wide range of psychiatric emergencies with expertise, compassion and care.

If you or a loved one requires urgent mental health support, help is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Growing up can bring unique emotional, behavioural and developmental challenges. Children and young people may experience difficulties such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, behavioural concerns or challenges coping with school and life transitions.

IMH provides specialised assessment, treatment and support for children and adolescents with a wide range of mental health and developmental conditions. Depending on their needs, support may include medication, psychotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, play and music therapy, occupational therapy, skills-based training, group programmes and school-based support. Our multidisciplinary teams also work closely with families, schools and community partners to support each young person's wellbeing, development and recovery.

Older adult mental health and wellbeing support

Mental and cognitive health remain important as we age. Older adults may experience conditions such as dementia, depression, anxiety, behavioural changes or other age-related mental health concerns.
