ED, ICU/CCU, AAU and OT: Hard copies of the laboratory Interim results are printed out. The results are collected and distributed via porters.
Other locations: Interim results are printed for urgent cases only.
Downtime estimated more than 4 hours:
ED, ICU/CCU, AAU and OT: Hard copies of the laboratory Interim results are printed out. The results are collected and distributed via porters or PTS.
Other locations: Interim results are batched and collected via porters.
For blood transfusion related tests during NGEMR and/or ECM downtime:
- BTS test requests must be accompanied by 'Blood Transfusion Service request form'.
- One Step request forms may be used intra-operatively.
- Request forms for type and screen must contain both collecting and counter-checking personnel's signatures.
- Type and screen labels require the collector's signature.
- BTS personnel inform the requesting location to place an order for confirmatory grouping, if required.
For surveillance testings: only positive results are communicated via secured messaging to ordering locations.
