Research Laboratory

The NSC research laboratory plays a key role in facilitating clinical research and translational research which are integral to NSC’s mission to be a pivotal centre for clinical and translational research.

For clinical research, the laboratory handles the primary processing, packaging, transiting and preparation of clinical research specimens before they are transported to the collaborating institutes for further analyses. More importantly, it serves as a bridge between clinical needs and scientific discovery, working closely with NSC clinicians and external collaborators to shape and support research that is clinically relevant and translational in impact.

With strengths in molecular dermatology, advanced tissue analysis and translational research, the laboratory works with its partners to complement the Centre’s clinical services through work that investigates disease biology, supports diagnostic development, and contributes to the advancement of cutaneous therapeutics and other clinically relevant innovations to improve population health.
