Mpox is a viral disease that is primarily transmitted through direct contact with skin or genital lesions, body fluids, or contaminated items such as bedding (fomites).

 

The mode of transmission locally has been through sexual contact and primarily among gay, bisexual, and other men-who-have-sex-with-men (GBMSM).
