The Woodbridge Hospital Charity Fund (WHCF) is a registered charity and Institution of a Public Character (IPC) under the Institute of Mental Health (IMH).  
WHCF supports the programmes and patients at IMH through philanthropic funding and volunteer programmes. Many of our patients face challenges that extend beyond their medical condition, such as financial, social, and personal issues. As IMH’s subvention from the government goes primarily to running clinical services, other community outreach and patient support and welfare services would need to depend on philanthropic funds.  

Through donations and volunteer support, we are able to fund programmes and run services that complement clinical care, such as supporting our patients’ recovery, maximising their well-being, and maintaining their dignity. IMH provides staff to manage the charity’s operations, so as to ensure that all donations are channeled directly into patient services and programmes. 

Our programmes extend beyond the walls of IMH into the community, where these patients actually live, or will be re-integrated back. Mental health needs to be a shared community responsibility, thus WHCF builds an effective ecosystem that supports active participation and partnership from multiple stakeholders.
