CLINICAL RESEARCH COMMITTEE (CRC)

TERMS OF REFERENCE

1. Provide an independent and timely review of the scientific merits of, and approve / disapprove with modification, research proposals involving:

    

   1. Patients
   2. Staff and facilities
   3. Drugs
   4. Devices
   5. Procedures, and
   6. Other interventional/ therapeutic modalities involving patients
   7. Volunteers
       
2. Safeguard / protect the interest of patients, research subjects and the institution, i.e. IMH / WH.
    
3. Approve the utilisation of the Investigator Fee from clinical trials.
    
4. This Committee will refer all proposals that are potentially adverse to the patient / institution to the IMH CMB. The Chairperson will also forward a copy of the
    
5. Responsibilities
    
   1. Regularly attend scheduled CRC meetings
   2. Review all research proposals / materials received prior to the meeting
   3. Actively participate in discussions at board meetings
   4. Members are expected to contribute to the evaluation of a study on its scientific merits
   5. Vote to approve, disapprove, abstain, or table applications based on the merits / sensitivity of the study
   6. Maintain the confidentially of all board discussions and all material included in the meeting.
