CLINICAL RESEARCH COMMITTEE (CRC)
TERMS OF REFERENCE
Provide an independent and timely review of the scientific merits of, and approve / disapprove with modification, research proposals involving:
- Patients
- Staff and facilities
- Drugs
- Devices
- Procedures, and
- Other interventional/ therapeutic modalities involving patients
- Volunteers
- Safeguard / protect the interest of patients, research subjects and the institution, i.e. IMH / WH.
- Approve the utilisation of the Investigator Fee from clinical trials.
- This Committee will refer all proposals that are potentially adverse to the patient / institution to the IMH CMB. The Chairperson will also forward a copy of the
- Responsibilities
- Regularly attend scheduled CRC meetings
- Review all research proposals / materials received prior to the meeting
- Actively participate in discussions at board meetings
- Members are expected to contribute to the evaluation of a study on its scientific merits
- Vote to approve, disapprove, abstain, or table applications based on the merits / sensitivity of the study
- Maintain the confidentially of all board discussions and all material included in the meeting.
