The Vascular and Endovascular Surgery service is actively involved in managing the entire spectrum of Arterial and Venous Conditions through both minimally invasive endovascular techniques and traditional open surgery.
Our Vascular Surgeons are highly trained and dedicated in providing Holistic, Evidence-based and personalised care in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of Interventional Radiologists, Anaesthetists, Endocrinologists, Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Geriatric Medicine Physicians, Rehabilitation Medicine Physicians, Physiotherapists, Podiatrists and Specialists nurses (Wound nurses and Advanced Practise Nurses)
This collaborative model ensures that every aspect of a patient's vascular health is addressed, from diagnosis to long-term recovery. Beyond clinical care, we are actively involved in research, clinical trials, and medical innovation to continually advance the field of vascular surgery, and we play a significant role in both postgraduate and undergraduate medical education, nurturing the next generation of surgical leaders.
Our Services
Our service offers a comprehensive range of investigations, precise diagnoses, and advanced treatments for a wide array of vascular conditions. Our commitment to utilizing both endovascular and open surgical approaches ensures optimal outcomes for our patients:
Aortic Aneurysm Management
- Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (EVAR): Minimally invasive repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
- Open Repair: Traditional surgical repair for abdominal aortic aneurysms.
- Thoracic Endovascular Aneurysm Repair (TEVAR): Minimally invasive treatment for thoracic aortic aneurysms and dissections.
- Complex Aortic Aneurysm Solutions: Utilizing fenestrated and branched stent grafts for intricate aortic anatomies.
- Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) and Limb Salvage:
- Bypass Surgery: Traditional surgical re-routing of blood flow to bypass blocked arteries in the limbs.
- Endovascular Therapy: Minimally invasive treatments including balloon angioplasty and stenting for occluded peripheral arteries, crucial for managing PAD, gangrene, and ulcers of the lower limb.
Venous Disease Management
- Endovenous Techniques for Varicose Veins: Modern, minimally invasive treatments such as Radiofrequency Ablation, Cyanoacrylate Glue (Venaseal), and Sclerotherapy.
- Treatment for Venous Ulcers: Comprehensive management of chronic leg ulcers related to venous insufficiency.
- Endovenous Stenting: For complex deep venous conditions, improving blood flow and reducing symptoms.
Dialysis Access and Salvage
- Haemodialysis Access Surgery: Creation of arteriovenous fistulas or grafts for patients requiring kidney dialysis.
- Haemodialysis Access Salvage Procedures: Interventions to maintain or restore functionality of existing dialysis access.
- Complex Surgical Collaborations:
- Vascular Support and Reconstruction: Providing critical vascular expertise and reconstructive services during complex oncological surgeries (e.g., sarcoma surgery, urology, and general surgery).
- Spinal Operative Exposure: Collaborating with spine surgeons to provide anterior spinal exposure when required for complex spine procedures.
- Management of Thoracic Outlet Syndrome: Diagnosis and surgical treatment for compression of nerves and blood vessels in the thoracic outlet.
Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory
Our in-house Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory provides timely and accurate non-invasive imaging of vascular pathology using state-of-the-art Duplex Ultrasonography and other adjunct investigative modalities to aid in the precise diagnosis and management of our patients.
