TTSH Anaesthesiology, Intensive Care and Pain Medicine
Overview

We provide anaesthetic services to a total of 28 operating theatres (OT) which includes 25 elective OTs, 3 emergency OTs and remote areas such as the endoscopy suite, interventional radiology suite and the MRI suite.

Our work involves journeying with patients from the time they present for surgery in the pre-operative clinic (PACE) setting, during the surgery itself, as well as in the post-operative recovery period.

Our specialists are skilled in tailoring a comprehensive anaesthetic and pain management plan specific to our patients’ needs and medical conditions in the form of general anaesthesia, regional anaesthesia or sedation. Our department also consists of intensivists who manage critically ill patients requiring advanced care and multiorgan support after surgery, as well as pain specialists who manage patients with chronic and complex pain issues via a multidisciplinary and multimodal approach including medications, physiotherapy and pain procedures.

The Anaesthesia team provides routine and complex care for perioperative patients, including:

  • Pre-admission Assessment, Counselling & Evaluation
  • Tailoring of an individualized plan suited to the patient’s medical conditions and nature of the procedure
  • Administration of general and regional anaesthesia, and sedation
  • Post-operative acute pain management
  • Chronic and Interventional pain management
  • Intensive care management for critically ill patients
