Post-graduate year 1 (PGY1) is the 12-month training year after completion of basic medical education. Completion of PGY1 training makes you eligible for medical registration. It prepares you for future unsupervised independent practice.
The PGY1 (TTSH) programme promotes a culture of patient safety and teaching excellence, with a strong tradition of mentorship and support for our junior doctors. We aim to equip our PGY1s with the clinical experience and competencies necessary to assume increasing responsibility for patient care under supervision. With the solid foundation in your PGY1 year, we also provide a springboard to support your career aspirations through further training subsequently in our residency programmes.
You will experience both the breadth and depth of clinical work, and a strong spirit of camaraderie amongst your peers and seniors while working in a busy restructured hospital.
