Adj Asst Prof Foo pioneered Geriatric Emergency Medicine (GEM) not only in Tan Tock Seng Hospital, but nationally as well. His publications proved that geriatric screening in the Emergency Department (ED) improves outcomes. He also facilitated workflows and policies to right-site elderly patients directly from ED to stepdown care such as community hospitals.

Today, Adj Asst Prof Foo leads NHG Health in developing and optimizing the ED electronic medical record system, under the motto “Good Build Saves Lives”. IT enhancements are delivered swiftly and affordably, to improve patient care, patient experience, and patient safety – not just in NHG Health, but nationwide.
