Our Emergency Department (ED) is one of the busiest in the country. Our priority is to attend to patients with serious illnesses, injuries and life-threatening emergencies. Ward admission is prioritised for urgent and critically ill cases.

If your medical condition is not an emergency, please seek medical attention at your nearest or preferred General Practitioner (GP) or Polyclinic.

We provide 24-hour emergency services in trauma care, toxicology, observational medicine, pre-hospital emergency care, disaster medicine, and is one of the busiest emergency departments in Singapore. Our team provides medical expertise for emergencies which are sudden, urgent or unexpected occurrences that require immediate medical attention. The conditions include:

  • Sudden, severe chest pains or breathlessness
  • Loss of consciousness
  • Drug overdose or poisoning
  • Broken bone or dislocation
  • Deep cuts with uncontrollable bleeding
  • Choking or difficulty in breathing
  • Head injuries with bleeding, drowsiness or vomiting
  • Traffic or worksite accident
  • Sudden abdominal pains that do not subside
