Biodata

Dr Shirley Teo works as a Consultant in General Medicine at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. She completed her medical education at the National University of Singapore and underwent her specialty training under the NHG Health, where she worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for seven years before joining Khoo Teck Puat Hospital as an Advanced Internal Medicine Specialist Consultant in 2021.

Dr Teo is passionate about teaching medical students and junior doctors and is committed to training them to become better clinicians. She holds academic appointments as a Clinical Educator at the National University of Singapore's Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. She is heavily involved in the training and mentoring of Junior Doctors as the Medical Junior Manpower Lead and Core Faculty Member of the Postgraduate Year 1 Committee.

Her expertise extends beyond clinical care and education into the critical areas of quality improvement and patient safety. Dr Teo served as the Chairperson of KTPH Pressure Injury Prevention Workgroup and is currently an active member of KTPH Clinical Quality and Patient Safety Committee. Her commitment to clinical excellence extends to her involvement in various quality improvement projects, particularly focused on reducing pressure injuries in the hospital.

As recognition for her contributions to education and quality improvement, she has received several accolades, including the COVID-19 Commendation Medal in 2022, Clinical Practice Improvement Programme (CPIP) Batch 56 Best Project in 2023, and the Yishun Health Teaching Excellence Award (Postgraduates) in 2024.
