Biodata

A/Prof Phoa Lee Lan is the Chairman Medical Board and Senior Consultant in the Department of General Medicine. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a MBBS degree in 1995 and completed her postgraduate Specialist training in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in 2002 and is a Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board certified specialist in Respiratory Medicine, Critical Care Medicine, and Internal Medicine. She was awarded the MOH HMDP scholarship and completed a year-long attachment at the prestigious Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, Liverpool Hospital and Woolcock Institute. She is a caring respiratory and critical care physician and internist with a special interest in airway allergy and chronic cough. As a top expert in her field, she is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburg), Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in Singapore. She is a passionate educator, mentor and currently serves as Adjunct Associate Professor for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at NUS and Lee Kong Chian Medical School at NTU. She contributes as a key member of the Respiratory Residency Advisory Committee looking into Respiratory specialist training and examinations. As a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians, A/Prof Phoa is an appointed examiner for the MRCP PACES examination.

A/Prof Phoa has done a leadership tour at KTPH. She was Head of Department of Medicine for 7 years before handing over and taking on new portfolios. She was pivotal in the development and expansion of the Department as KTPH grew into a key hospital in the North of Singapore. She is responsible for overall care transformation and standards to drive care integration across the entire Yishun campus and implement value-based care for the northern population.

In recognition of her contributions to public healthcare, she has been awarded the National Day Long Service award in 2021 and the Public Administration Bronze Medal for COVID-19 in 2022.
