Dr Ng Kah Yan practises as a Consultant in the Department of General Medicine at Khoo Teck Puat Hospital (KTPH). As an Internal Medicine Specialist, her expertise mainly focuses on adult medicine, from acute to chronic diseases and patients with multi-system disorders or undifferentiated syndromes. She has a special interest in Acute Medicine and Internal Medicine Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS).

Dr Ng is also involved in hospital-wide initiatives focusing on patient safety and quality care as part of her role as the Department Quality Officer. Alongside her clinical duties, she actively supports the General Medicine Junior Residency Programme, providing mentorship and training to residents.

She serves as a dedicated educator for both the National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. In 2022, she was honoured with the COVID-19 Commendation Medal in recognition of her contributions during the pandemic.
