Introduction Message
Plastic Surgery encompasses the wide fields of reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, applying these techniques to the reconstruction of anatomical defects or anomalies as well as restoring both physical appearance and physiological function. This programme aims to produce competent Plastic Surgeons with solid grounding in the principles and techniques of Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery.
Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) is one of three sponsoring institutions in Singapore that offer a Plastic Surgery residency programme. We are committed to training the next generation of plastic surgeons who are competent and compassionate in offering quality healthcare to patients.
The resident will first undergo a 2-year common trunk Surgery-in-General (SIG) programme together with residents in Hand Surgery and Urology, before proceeding on with four years of dedicated Plastic Surgery training. Upon graduating this programme, the resident can then seek registration with the Specialist Accreditation Board (SAB) of the Ministry of Health to practise as a certified Plastic Surgeon.
TTSH is one of the largest and busiest acute care hospitals in Singapore, with a wide breath of cases which cover all aspects of Plastic Surgery care. We welcome all individuals who are motivated, passionate, and great team players to be a part of our tight-knit family.
As of the July 2020 intake, new residents will be enrolled under the Singapore Integrated Programme (SGIP) for Plastic Surgery, with Singhealth as the administrative centre.
