Adjunct A/Prof Leow Yung Hian is a Senior Consultant Dermatologist at the National Skin Centre (NSC), Singapore, with a long-standing focus on contact dermatitis and occupational skin diseases. He is the Chief of the Contact Dermatitis and Joint Occupational Dermatoses Unit, where he leads the service in assessing and managing patients with skin conditions related to environmental and workplace exposures.
His clinical work often involves detailed evaluation of patients with suspected allergic or irritant triggers, including the use of patch testing and careful occupational history-taking. He manages a wide spectrum of cases, from common allergic contact dermatitis to more complex occupational dermatoses that require long-term follow-up and coordinated care. A key part of his practice includes helping patients identify and avoid causative agents, while supporting sustainable return-to-work plans where applicable.
Adj A/Prof Leow is also actively involved in teaching and mentoring within the department, particularly in contact dermatitis. He contributes to the training of residents and junior doctors, and is a regular speaker at regional meetings, where he shares practical insights from his clinical experience.
His approach to dermatological care is thoughtful and systematic, prioritising root-cause identification and sustained improvement in patient outcomes.
He has also been recognised for contributions to clinical practice and education, including the NHG Distinguished Senior Clinician Award (2022), NHG Excellence in Action Award — Individual (Medical) (2022), NHG Teaching Award for Senior Doctors (2022), NHG Outstanding Citizenship Award (2010), and the NSC Service Champions Superstar Award (2024).
