Group Chief Quality Officer

Asst Prof Tung Yew Cheong champions quality improvement and patient safety across NHG Health. With over 26 years of clinical experience, he provides strategic leadership in advancing value-based care and clinical excellence. Prior to this role, Asst Prof Tung served as Deputy Group Chief Quality Officer and held key leadership positions at NHG Polyclinics, including Head of NHG Toa Payoh Polyclinic and Deputy Director of Clinical Services. He is widely recognised for his contributions to care transformation, earning the Healthcare Humanity Award (2012), National Day Long Service Medal (2022), Public Administration Medal (Bronze) for his role in Singapore’s COVID-19 response (2023) and The Public Administration Medal (Bronze) in 2025. A Family Physician by training, Asst Prof Tung holds an MBBS and Master of Medicine (Family Medicine) from NUS, and completed an Executive MBA from SMU. His steadfast focus on quality supports NHG Health’s mission to deliver better outcomes through safer, more effective care.
