Ms Chu Swee Yeok is the Chair and Founding Partner of August Global Partners, a commercial investment firm managing multi-stage funds with portfolios in healthcare and other industries.

She is a business leader with over 35 years of deep experience in management, strategy development and investments.

She was formerly the CEO, President and Executive Director of EDBI, the dedicated investment arm of Singapore Economic Development Board for some 14 years. There she developed and championed the execution of its global investment strategies, balancing the unique mandates required of a strategic fund. She was responsible for driving the management of multi billion-dollar assets in direct as well as fund investments spanning US, Europe, China, SEA and Singapore, investing in fast growing sectors including healthcare, digital technologies, financial services, frontier engineering and manufacturing technologies, and sustainability-related industries.

Under her leadership, she successfully transformed EDBI from a passive state-owned fund management company into a credible and reputable investor on the global investment stage. Ms Chu currently serves as the Senior Advisor to the Chairman of EDBI/EDB.

Other than National Healthcare Group and serving as an independent director on the boards of private and listed institutions, Ms Chu is actively involved in supporting the work of other public agencies like Nanyang Technological University, Agency for Science & Technology and National Research Foundation.
