Pre-employment, Pre-placement and Post-retirement Medical Examinations

Ensure your employees are physically fit for the job through tailored medical screenings.

Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) offers pre-employment, pre-placement, and post-retirement health assessments tailored to meet your organisation’s requirements. Examinations include detailed clinical consultation, physical assessment, and targeted laboratory investigations, which are customised according to the industry sector, job role and individual health risk profile.

Fitness for Work and Return to Work Assessment

Employers can support a safe and sustainable return to work for employees recovering from long-term illness and injury through a Fitness for Work / Return to Work Assessment, which helps determine the employee's suitability for work.

TTSH offers a Fitness and Return to Work (FRTW) Programme* to help workers who have suffered injuries and/or illness to return to work safely and maintain long-term employability, through the collaborative efforts of a multi-disciplinary healthcare team.

This programme helps the employers to reintegrate injured employees into the workforce and source solutions to optimise an employee's work ability. This may include job re-design and work modification plans as needed to allow employees to work as part of their rehabilitation and recovery process.

*The FRTW Programme may be claimed through Work Injury Compensation Act (WICA), employee benefits or RTW grant (only for Small and Medium Enterprises, and only for Return to Work cases).

Statutory Medical Examinations

Fulfil legal requirements for specified medical examinations for employees in hazardous occupations, in accordance with the WSH (Medical Examinations) Regulations.

  • Asbestos
  • Benzene
  • Cadmium and its compounds
  • Creosote

Occupational Vaccination Programmes

Having a comprehensive occupational vaccination programme can help employees avoid vaccine-preventable diseases, such as healthcare workers or laboratory personnel who work with or handle pathogens. Our Occupational Health doctors can support companies by:

  • Providing timely information about diseases and vaccines
  • Developing policies on vaccination for infectious diseases prevention
  • Assessing necessary vaccinations for high-risk roles

These vaccinations can be administered at TTSH’s Traveller's Health and Vaccination Clinic.

Diagnosis, Evaluation, and Management of Occupational Diseases and Work-related Injuries

Occupational diseases and work-related injuries and/or health conditions, such as infectious disease exposure, staff abuse, musculoskeletal problems, dermatological issues or respiratory illness, may arise from the work environment.

Our specialists offer specialised clinical assessment and management of injuries and conditions, which may take the form of interviews, clinical consultations and investigations, and work site visits, as needed. Appropriate preventive measures will be advised, if required, to ensure that the individual is fit to resume his or her normal duties and that there is no further risk to the worker or other staff. We are also able to evaluate and confirm occupational diseases according to MOM’s requirements for regulatory and insurance requirements.

Our doctors can aid with setting up or improving the organisation’s occupational health framework to create and ensure a safe workplace for employees. Our services include providing guidance on:
