Dr Sohil practices Emergency Medicine with special clinical interests in resuscitation and trauma, critical care including hyperacute stroke and neurological emergencies and emergency preparedness. In addition, he is a Clinical Senior lecturer for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and Physician Faculty for NHG Emergency Medicine Residency program. He is also the Assistant Commander for Disaster Site Medical Command under the Ministry of Health, Singapore.
Dr Sohil obtained his medical degree from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, India in 2001 and completed his specialty training in Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and National University of Singapore in 2007. He further completed his Advanced Specialist Training in Emergency Medicine at Singapore General Hospital and obtained specialist qualification from the Academy of Medicine, Singapore in 2012. He then worked as a specialist emergency physician at Singapore General Hospital before joining Woodlands Health in October 2018. He went on to do a fellowship in Trauma and Emergency Medicine including hyperacute stroke at Auckland City Hospital, New Zealand in 2022.
Dr Sohil serves on a number of department and hospital committees, and also is an invited speaker at international conferences. Awards he has won include the ATLS Outstanding Instructor Award in 2023, Singhealth Duke NUS AMEI Golden Apple Program Excellence Award in 2022 , Exemplary Innovator Award for Public Sector Transformation (PST) in 2020, 11th AHIP-GEM EBP Award in 2018, Gold Award at the In-house IQC Assessment in 2016, International Scholarship Award by the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) in 2015 and 2007, 8th Allied Health Innovative Practice GEM Award in 2015, Singapore, Service with a Heart award at Singapore General Hospital in 2013, Singapore Health Quality Service Gold Award 2010-2011 and Singapore Health Quality Service Silver Award 2009-2010.
