Dr Thrumurthy obtained her specialist accreditation in general gastroenterology and hepatology after completion of her training in the national Gastro Residency Programme.

She graduated from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 2014 with Commendation before obtaining her Membership of Royal College of Physicians (United Kingdom) in 2019. She obtained specialist accreditation in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in 2022.

Dr Thrumurthy has keen interest in bariatric endoscopy in addition to general gastroenterology and hepatology disorders.

Dr Thrumurthy speaks English and Tamil.
