Biodata

Dr Richmond Lim practises Otolaryngology with special clinical interests in Rhinology, in addition to general ENT. He is also a clinical teacher with both the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Dr Lim graduated from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2011, completed his Otorhinolaryngology residency and joined WH in 2020. In 2022, he was awarded the HMDP award to further his Rhinology subspecialty training at the world-renowned St Paul’s Sinus Centre in Vancouver, Canada with Dr. Amin Javer.

His interest in Rhinology was piqued early on in his training, having witnessed how with various endoscopes and precision instruments, the nasal cavity can serve as a corridor to approach the sinuses and beyond. He is thankful to have close working relationships with Neurosurgeons and Ophthalmologists whom he regularly collaborates with to treat skull base, orbital and lacrimal disease. Rhinology is not just about the operating room though; recent discoveries and new insights into sinus disease and development of advanced therapies have kept Dr Lim interested in this ever-growing field.

However, prescribing medication and performing surgery can only take one so far. A big part of successful care lies in patient education, empowerment and a shared decision making process. Dr Lim believes in taking the effort to build trust and rapport to facilitate this process, and ultimately provide better care for his patients.

Dr Lim speaks English, Mandarin and Hokkien.
