Dr Ibakkanavar practices Renal Medicine with special clinical interests in peritoneal dialysis and general nephrology. Prior to moving to Singapore in 2014, Dr Ibakkanavar completed his specialist training and received accreditation in Renal and General internal medicine at University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff (UK), Dr Ibakkanavar has been practicing Medicine and Nephrology for more than 15 years. He chose to be a Nephrologist and Internist as he feels that patients with chronic conditions like Chronic Kidney Disease benefit from forming long-term doctor-patient relationships with their respective specialists.

Prior to joining Woodlands Health Dr Ibakkanavar was working as a consultant nephrologist in Tan Tock Seng Hospital and the National Kidney Foundation. He chose to join Woodlands Health as it goved him the opportunity to to help build a new department and develop patient centered services to cater for specific patient needs. Dr Ibakkanavar will be leading Outpatient Peritoneal Dialysis services and Renal Digital health services for Woodlands Health.
