With an early keen interest in science, Dr Nasen Zhang graduated summa cum laude from Boston University with a degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology in 2007. He was then drawn to the human side of medicine, which he studied at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, graduating with an M.D. in 2012. He then completed Internal Medicine residency training in at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City and went on to gain experience in research and clinical care as a hospitalist working in New York tertiary care for six years.

Since he relocated to Singapore and joined Woodlands Health in 2021, his clinical focus has shifted to acute medicine. Although now practicing in a different environment, medicine continues to offer him opportunities for inquiry, teaching and service.

Dr Zhang speaks English, Mandarin and Spanish.
