Biodata

Dr Lavina Bharwani is our visiting consultant in Woodlands Health for medical oncology.

Dr Bharwani received her bachelor's degree with honors from Bryn Mawr College, USA. She received her MD from Baylor College of Medicine, USA in 1997. She completed her residency training in Internal Medicine, as well as her Hematology/Oncology fellowship training at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Dr Bharwani joined the faculty as an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Hematology/Oncology at Baylor College of Medicine in 2003.

Dr Bharwani moved to Singapore in 2006 and joined Johns Hopkins Singapore IMC/Tan Tock Seng Hospital as a Consultant in Medical Oncology. She is also an Assistant Professor of Oncology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and Adjunct Associate Professor at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.

Dr Bharwani has been the Head of Department of the Medical Oncology Department at Tan Tock Seng Hospital since November 2017. Dr Bharwani has also been involved in the development and growth of the oncology services at TTSH and is leading the development of Medical Oncology Services throughout the NHG Cluster.

Dr Bharwani's area of interest includes breast cancer, gynecologic and gastrointestinal malignancies and has been a principal and co-investigator on several Phase II and Phase III clinical trials.
