Dr Chokkappan has completed FRCR (Fellowship in Royal College of Radiologists) in London in 2010 after completing his medical undergraduate and radiology post-graduate training in India. He started his career in Singapore at KTPH in year 2013 as a service registrar and completed the NHG residency training in radiology in 2020, during which he trained in various hospitals such as TTSH, SGH, KKH and NNI. He sub-specialises in interventional radiology and performs various diagnostic and interventional radiological procedures.

He speaks English and Tamil.
