Biodata
Dr Lo joined Woodlands Health in 2021 and is a firm believer in providing multi-disciplinary and patient-centric care, through the engagement, education and empowerment of patients and their caregivers. He is currently the Lead for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Diagnostic Laboratory at Woodlands Health.
He practises general and vascular surgery with special clinical and research interests in complex wound care, diabetic limb salvage, open and endovascular arterial revascularisation, chronic venous insufficiency endovenous surgery and iliac vein stenting, open and endovascular renal access surgery, as well as open and endovascular aortic repair. In addition, he is a clinical assistant professor for NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and clinical lecturer for NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, with more than 10 teaching awards received since 2010.
Dr Lo graduated from the University of Melbourne (Australia) and after completing his surgical training as the inaugural resident at NHG General Surgery Residency Program, he completed his vascular fellowship in the United Kingdom, training at both Leeds General Infirmary (Leeds) and St Thomas Hospital (London) in 2016. He also completed a visiting fellowship at Kings College Hospital Diabetic Foot Clinic (London) in 2019 and was awarded the Society of Vascular Surgery's prestigious International Scholars Program in 2020. He is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), Academy of Medicine Singapore, American College of Surgeons and European Board of Vascular Surgery. He serves on the board for Chapter of General Surery, College of Surgeons Singapore and is the Honorary Secretary for the Society of Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons of Singapore. He is currently Lead for NHG's Diabetic Foot in Primary and Tertiary (DEFINITE) Care and Co-chair for NHG's Wounds iCare Collaborative (WiCC) Workgroup.
Dr Lo is an innovator and clinician-scientist, with a passion in researching ways to improve healthcare delivery for cost-efficient and improved patient outomes. He was awarded the NMRC Research Training Fellowship in 2020 to complete his PhD with NTU Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, and has received more than S$3 million in dedicated research funding with more than 65 publications till date.
