Dr John has over 30 years of experience in clinical biochemistry in the UK NHS with specific clinical and research interests in laboratory quality, clinical utility of laboratory tests and point-of care testing. In addition he has held a number of senior medical management roles including Director of Pathology Services, Director of the N. Ireland Clinical Research Network and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Clinical Biochemistry, and has served on working groups of both the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, and European Federation of Laboratory Medicine.
