Dr Elton Tay practices Ophthalmology with special clinical interests in glaucoma, cataracts, general ophthalmology, and aviation medicine.

Dr Tay also serves as Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist to the department of Ophthalmology in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He is also a certified medical assessor at the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore.

Dr Tay is dual accredited by the Singapore Specialist Accreditation Board in both Ophthalmology and Aviation Medicine. He was the Stewart Memorial Prize winner (best overall candidate) for his Diploma of Aviation Medicine, UK in 2006. He completed his clinical fellowship in Glaucoma at Lions Eye Institute and Royal Perth Hospital in Perth, Australia.

He also has interests in innovation, and ways to improve quality and efficiency in healthcare systems.
