Dr Edmund Lim underwent his junior residency training in internal medicine in NUH in 2015, before pursuing speciality training in respiratory medicine at TTSH. He obtained his specialist accreditation in 2023 and embarked on intensive care medicine training at various hospitals, which he completed in 2024. He maintains a strong interest in education, having received the NHG residency peer-teaching excellence award in 2023.

He specialises in respiratory and critical care medicine and has special interests in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, especially in optimising their function to allow them to lead fuller lives through the intersection of medicine, rehabilitation and community support. He is also interested in interventional techniques for lung nodules and lung cancer evaluation, and the use of ultrasound to bring better diagnostics and decision-making in the intensive care setting.
