Dr Benjamin Wong practises Anatomic Pathology (histopathology and cytopathology) in the Laboratory Medicine and Pathology service, with a special clinical interest in gastro-intestinal and liver pathology.

Dr Wong obtained his primary medical qualification from The University of Melbourne, Australia in 2002, before undergoing specialist training in Anatomic Pathology at the Monash Medical Centre and Box Hill Hospital in Melbourne from 2006 to 2011. He moved to Singapore in 2011, and worked at the National University Hospital and Ng Teng Fong General Hospital before joining Woodlands Health in 2019 as the Head of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology.

Anatomic Pathology is a visually rich specialty: many diseases have striking microscopic appearances. Dr Wong enjoys interpreting the microscopic appearance of tissue and cells to make diagnoses for patients, and working as part of a multidisciplinary team to ensure that patients receive the most appropriate care.
