Biodata
Dr Alicia Ang practices Infectious Diseases Medicine with special clinical interests in HIV, infections in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and immunocompromised patients, and infectious diseases in the community.
She graduated from the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2014, and joined the National University Hospital Health System Internal Medicine Residency upon graduation. She completed her Infectious Diseases Senior Residency from 2018 to 2022, and was the Chief Resident from 2019 to 2020. During her time at NUH, she was actively involved in Quality Improvement, and received the recognition award for her Quality Improvement Project to reduce unnecessary urine cultures. With a strong passion for medical education, she was deeply involved in the Patient-Based Programme for medical students at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, which orientates medical students to the healthcare system in Singapore as well as the concepts of patient-centered care.
Since joining Woodlands Health in 2022, she has taken up leadership of the Outpatient Parenteral Antibiotic Therapy (OPAT) Service, which strives to reduce and shorten the duration of inpatient hospital stays by providing patients access to parenteral antibiotics in the outpatient clinic and the community.
