Biodata

'Dr Aisha Lateef is the Chief of Medicine at Woodlands Health (WH) and Adjunct Associate Professor at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

She practises Internal Medicine and Rheumatology with special clinical interests in Acute Medicine, Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, and Obstetric Rheumatology.

Dr Lateef graduated from the Karachi University of Pakistan in 1992 and worked as a primary care physician for few years. She subsequently did Internal Medicine Residency and fellowship in Rheumatology at NUH and research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, USA.

Dr Lateef has a special interest in developing sustainable models for healthcare delivery. She was clinical services director for Department of Medicine, NUH, and led several system reforms to enhance the quality and safety of care. She was also former head of Rheumatology at NUH, building the clinical, research and educational capabilities of the team. NUH Rheumatology received Asia Pacific Excellence Award in 2019 under her leadership.

Dr. Lateef is enthusiastic about teaching, holding faculty appointments at medical schools and post-graduate training programs. She has published several articles and book chapters, and serves as a reviewer for various journals. She is an active member of regional rheumatology organizations and research collaborations including the Asia Pacific Lupus Collaboration (APLC).
