Adj A/Prof Yap Wai Ming is a Senior Consultant Pathologist in the Department of Pathology, Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore where he specialises in liver pathology. He graduated from the University of Malaya, Malaysia in 1984, pursued postgraduate training in Pathology. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists of UK since 1991. He was awarded the prestigious Ministry of Health Scholarship for fellowship training and underwent a 6 month in liver pathology training at Royal Free Hospital London, UK in 2001 under the tutelage of Professor Sheuer and Institute of Liver Studies, King's College, UK in 2004 under the tutelage of Professor Bernard Portmann.
Adj A/Prof Yap believes in keeping abreast with the latest evidence-based medicine, and is committed to furthering the understanding of diseases through clinical research. He has contributed to this through multiple international peer-reviewed scientific journal publications, presentations at both local and overseas conferences, and co-authoring of book chapters.
Adj A/Prof Yap believes the correct treatment of patients starts with the correct diagnosis and the correct teaching of medical students. He currently serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor (Adj A/Prof) at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine.
