Dr Yap is a Senior Consultant in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine. He was a clinical fellow at Baylor College of Medicine, The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research in Houston, Texas, USA from 2000 to 2001. He was accredited as a specialist in Rehabilitation Medicine by the Specialists Accreditation Board of Singapore in 2002.

Dr Yap’s special interests are musculoskeletal rehabilitation, spine rehabilitation and rehabilitation of recreational sports injuries. He works with a collaborative multidisciplinary healthcare team and provides holistic patient centric care for young adults to the elderly, both outpatients and inpatients with complex musculoskeletal problems and medical conditions, to improve their function and quality of life.

In addition to clinical practice, Dr Yap is a passionate advocate of patient safety, assisting the delivery of quality improvement education to inter disciplinary rehabilitation team.
