Biodata

Dr Yang is a Consultant Geriatrician with special interests in Falls and Balance, Sarcopenia and Oral Frailty.

She graduated in Medicine from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and completed postgraduate training in Geriatric Medicine. She holds MRCP from the United Kingdom, and Master of Medicine (MMed, Internal Medicine), and is a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS).

She led a team Health Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) fellowship for sarcopenia to the National Centre for Geriatrics and Gerontology, Japan, in 2023.

She is also actively involved in undergraduate and post-graduate medical education as clinical lecturer for Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and serves as the Programme Director of the National Post-Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) programme in Tan Tock Seng Hospital.

She has received numerous teaching awards, including the NHG Health Teaching Award for Junior Clinicians 2016, TTSH Medical Teaching Award for Top Twenty Teachers AY22/23, Top Twenty Inspiring Educators AY24/25.

She is dedicated in helping older adults to stay active and robust so that they can continue to do what matters most to them in their golden years.
