Biodata
Dr Wei Xin is an Associate Consultant with the NHG Eye Institute at Tan Tock Seng Hospital. Dr Wei completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University and received his medical training at the Duke-National University of Singapore Graduate Medical School. He joined the ophthalmology residency program at the NHG Health, earning his Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from the National University of Singapore in 2022. In 2024, Dr Wei successfully completed his ophthalmology exit exam, receiving a gold medal for best candidate in general knowledge and medical ethics. He is a fellow of both the Academy of Medicine (Singapore) and the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK). Dr Wei has a profound interest in clinical research, authoring numerous scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals and presenting at various local and international ophthalmology conferences. He holds multiple research grants from the National Medical Research Council (NMRC) and the NHG Health Clinician-Scientist Preparatory Program.
Dr Wei is also deeply involved in medical education. He served as Chief Resident and Chief Senior Resident during his residency and participated in the NHG Health Chief Residency Program and the Singapore Chief Residency Program under the Healthcare Leadership College. Currently, he is a clinical tutor at both the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University. His areas of clinical interest include medical retina, uveitis, ocular immunology and inflammation, cataract, and general ophthalmology.
