Dr Claire Teo is a Consultant in the Department of Rheumatology at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH). She obtained her basic medical degree from the National University of Singapore (NUS). Following this, she underwent postgraduate training and was conferred the Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians (United Kingdom) and the Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) (NUS) in 2013. She achieved certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) and the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) (United States) in 2016. In 2019, she was accredited as a specialist in Rheumatology in Singapore and subsequently admitted as a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine in 2022. Dr Teo completed further speciality training in Clinical Immunology and Allergy in 2023.

At TTSH, Dr Teo serves as the department champion for Advanced Care Planning (ACP) and the TTSH@Home initiative. She is the principal investigator for a clinical trial on Systemic Lupus Erythematosus and co-investigator for various rheumatology and allergy research initiatives within the department. She is a member of local and regional professional societies and contributes to the Asia Pacific League of Associations of Rheumatology (APLAR) through its Crystal-Induced Arthritis and Social Commitment and Patient Outreach Special Interest Groups.

Dr Teo is actively involved in medical education. She holds appointments as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (NUS) and Adjunct Senior Lecturer at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (Nanyang Technological University). Within the NHG Health Rheumatology Senior Residency Programme, she is a Clinical Core Faculty Member and Chair of the Programme Evaluation Committee. She has also facilitated the Collaborative Practitioners Prescribing Programme for advanced practice nurses and pharmacists. She received the NHG Health Teaching Excellence Award for Junior Clinicians (2016) and the TTSH Medical Teaching Award Top Twenty Teachers (2024).
