Biodata

Adj A/Prof Glenn Tan is currently Divisional Chairman (Surgery), Head of Department of General Surgery and Head of Service for Vascular Surgery in Tan Tock Seng Hospital. He graduated in Medicine from the University of Glasgow in 2003 and became a Member of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2006. Following his return to Singapore, he continued postgraduate surgical training by attaining the Master of Medicine (Surgery) and commenced Advanced Specialty Training in General Surgery in 2007. He completed his training in General Surgery in 2010 after undertaking the Joint Specialty Fellowship Examination in General Surgery where he was awarded the Gold Medal from the College of Surgeons, Singapore and admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. In addition to this, he was later admitted as a Surgical Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2013. He was awarded the Healthcare Manpower Development Plan (HMDP) Fellowship and TTSH Scholarship in Vascular and Endovascular Surgery in 2010, which allowed him to pursue subspecialty training in Western Infirmary, Glasgow, United Kingdom and St Vincent's Hospital and Epworth Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

His main clinical interests are in Complex Endovascular Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Open and Endovascular Surgery for Lower Limb Salvage in Peripheral Vascular Disease and Endovenous Therapy for Varicose Veins. He is actively involved in both undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and is an Adj A/Prof with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, Nanyang Technological University and Clinical Senior Lecturer for the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore. He was formerly Principal Lead for Surgery in the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine between 2014 to 2018 where he was heavily involved in undergraduate surgical curriculum development. He is currently an examiner for the FMBBS Examination for both medical schools. He is a Core Clinical Faculty Member in the NHG Health General Surgery Residency Program and was previously Core Clinical Faculty Member in the NHG Health Transitional Year and Post-graduate Year 1 Residency Programs.
