Dr Tai graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the University of Malaya in 2012. He completed his family residency training in 2017 and obtained his Master of Medicine (Family Medicine). He subsequently became a fellow of the College of Family Physicians Singapore in 2021. He has a special interest in Post-acute and Continuing Care.

Apart from his clinical duties, Dr Tai holds several appointments. He is involved in undergraduate teaching at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine and Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He also teaches Family Medicine at postgraduate levels, such as the NHG Health Family Medicine Residency Programme and College of Family Physicians Fellowship Programme.
